Inspiring
Women Series: Making a Difference in Business
London
- Interbrand, Wednesday 21st May

On 21st May a large group of delegates gathered in Interbrand on
the Strand for the latest in the Inspiring Women series.
The audience included a mix of business owners from smaller, new
businesses and delegates from larger companies including HSBC, Shell
and Multimap.
Turn
up the Volume!
The
evening was expertly hosted by Satnam
Rana presenter and reporter from BBC Midlands Today.
Satnam
introduced Margot Katz, author and international
business consultant, who gave an informative and entertaining session
on personal branding. Margot encouraged us, with the
aid of a can of beans and a stick of rock, to "turn up the
volume" and "be bloody good". Read some
Top Tips from
Margot and find out where you can hear more from her.
Margot was followed by Sonita Alleyne, founding
director
of Somethin' Else. Sonita, who
was awarded an OBE
for services to broadcasting, gave us an insight into what it takes
to grow a successful media business. And now that she is 41,
we are looking forward to see what this successful business woman
will turn her hand to next.
Finally Christina Vaughan, CEO Image Source was
interviewed by Satnam. We understood a bit more about
what Margot meant by "Being Bloody Good" as we heard that
Christina runs a fantastic business across 4 international offices,
with 100 employees and $40 million gross sales worldwide.
Don't just sit there!
During
the networking there was plenty of lively debate as people chatted,
shared ideas and took advantage of the opportunity to make lots
of new connections.
Karen
Darby, and founders and executives from PR4
and the VMA
Group made themselves available to chat to people and offer
advice.
People who attended left feeling inspired and ready to shake up
business in the capital!
